This post is a little different from what I’ve been posting. I know it’s totally random, but today I thought it would be fun to share my desk with you. In no particular order, here are 16 weird things you can learn about me by looking at my desk.

I love these free holiday printables that fit in a 4×6 frame. They are perfect for my desk. I still have the Easter print in the frame, even though Easter was three weeks ago. Yeah, I need to switch that out.
Pics of My Kids
These pics of my kids are a few years old, but I love seeing them everyday. One picture is of my girls together and one is of my boys together. I am a blessed mom!
I started a bullet journal back in February to keep track of the many different roles that I have in my life. I am really good about writing my to do list for the next day at night in my bullet journal. I need to be a little more consistent with using it for the other stuff I have going on in my life, though. This is the journal I bought. It’s bright orange, which means it’s easy to spot no matter where I put it down. Orange is also my favorite color.
Stack of Note Cards
I am working on a project for work that involves a lot of different pieces of data. I couldn’t wrap my brain around the info when I had it in a list on a Google Doc, so I wrote every item out on a separate note card so I could sort the info. The note cards are working great. Now you know how my brain works.
I’ve been using this journal for a year and it’s almost full. The journal is on my desk because I was reading a journal entry to help me write an upcoming blog post. In case you haven’t noticed, I love journal writing.
My 7 year old frequently writes me notes and sticks them on my monitor. Sometimes they tell me how much she loves me, but these notes have page numbers from my favorite cookbook, Meals Made Simple. She went through the cookbook and wrote down all of the recipes she wants me to make. The notes have been there for two weeks and I have yet to add her ideas to my menu plan. Life has been crazy, and I’ve been flying by the seat of my pants, but I am grateful for her little reminders that cooking dinner is important to her.
First of all, I could not live without two monitors. Second, my computer screen is opened to Facebook, which it frequently is. What does that say about me? I think it says I love keeping in touch with my friends. I have reconnected with several people this week through Facebook. Sometimes I get sucked in, but I love how easy Facebook makes it to keep in touch.
I got a check up and this is my prescription for a mammogram. The prescription has been there for a week, and I still haven’t made the appointment. I know it’s important, but I’m not excited about getting this done, hence the procrastination. I’m going to get this scheduled today.
Yep, I got a ticket over two weeks ago, and I haven’t even looked at it. I know I can pay for online traffic school instead of paying the ticket, but I haven’t wanted to deal with it and I’m in denial that I’m going to spend 4 hours doing driving school. Guess what I’m doing this weekend?
I have been memorizing this document. I work on it a little bit everyday and on this note card I wrote the second to last paragraph that I have had a hard time getting down. I try to work on it when I take breaks from working. I’m almost there.
I just bought this stapler after my old one broke over a year ago. I bought a cheap stapler at Target one day and it broke after about a month. I am learning that spending more and getting quality stuff is worth it.
This piece of paper is a list of goals I set for work. I was having a hard time wrapping my brain around all of the projects I have going on, so I wrote out each project on a separate line along with what needs to be accomplished and a deadline for getting it done. As you can see, sometimes I am all over the place and I need hacks to help me focus.
This is a stack of business books all by the same author. I have read all of them multiple times to help me with a freelance writing gig. I have loved this job because I am a complete nerd about business books. If I ever go back to school it will be to get an MBA in organizational behavior. Once again, I’m nerdy.
I love this calendar my friend gave me for Christmas. She is the sweetest and has a really cute shop called Taylortown where she sells her amazing artwork. You should definitely check it out.
Donny Mouse Pad
The secret is out. I LOVE Donny Osmond and my husband knows it! I always have and I always will. My sister-in-law gave me this mouse pad for Christmas a few years ago and I squealed with delight when I opened it. Donny has been on my desk ever since.
I haven’t vacuumed in a while. Vacuuming is written down in my bullet journal as a task for tomorrow.
Wow, you made it to the end and now you know me a little better. What if someone looked at your work space? What would it say about you? I would love to hear.
